Two Performances by Quatuor Ébène, Three if You're at OHS, Wednesday and Thursday (April 24-25, 2013)

I just posted to The Frog about Quatuor Ébène'sFBS MAL performances tonight (4/24) and tomorrow (4/25) in Auburn and Opelika.

Quatuor Ébène, or the Ébène Quartet, will appear on the Performance Series Thursday night (April 25, 2013) at 7:30 p.m. CDT. Taking the form of a traditional string quartet, they also occasionally sound like one. But, as is happening more and more, the languages and power of jazz, rock, pop and world music are finding the way into the hearts and fingers of serious classical musicians.

“Serious” in Ébène’s case means international-award winning with performances in the greatest venues in the world and training from music’s most revered masters

But Thursday is not the only chance to hear Ébène. The quartet will perform a completely different and completely classical program Wednesday night (April 24, 2013) in Auburn at the AU Music Department’s Goodwin Recital Hall at 7:30 pm CDT. Read more.
